Accounting & Bookkeeping

When your books are accurate and current, decisions get easier. You know where you stand, what’s working, and where to focus next.

Running a business means making decisions constantly. Clear, accurate books make those decisions easier. Clarke provides monthly bookkeeping that keeps your records accurate, your reports readable, and your financial picture current. The numbers are there when you need them, not just at year-end.

What’s Included Every Month

Why We’re All In On QBO

Most accounting firms will work in whatever platform you’re already using. Every Clarke client works in QuickBooks Online. That’s a deliberate decision. When your entire accounting team lives in one platform, every day, across every client, the depth of knowledge compounds. As QuickBooks Online Certified professionals, we know QBO’s capabilities, its quirks, and how to configure it for different business types.

What that means for you:

  • You always have access. QBO is cloud-based. Log in and see your financials any time. We’re working in the same file you can see. No waiting on reports to be sent.

  • Setup is done right. Chart of accounts, bank feeds, reporting preferences: all configured for your specific business, not a generic template.

  • Cleanup is structured. If your QBO file is a mess, we assess it, fix what’s fixable, and rebuild what isn’t. We start from scratch only when we have to.

  • Reporting actually tells you something. Many QBO files are technically functional but produce reports that don’t mean much. We configure reporting so the numbers you see are meaningful, not just accurate.

  • QuickBooks Online at Wholesale Pricing. As an Intuit partner, we have access to significantly reduced QBO subscription pricing and pass it through to clients at cost, no markup. Most clients pay a fraction of what they’d pay on their own.

Questions

At Clarke, we get this question more than you’d think and it’s a good one. A CPA is licensed at the state level with a broad accounting background that can include audit, financial reporting, business advisory, and tax work. An Enrolled Agent (EA) is federally licensed by the IRS and specializes specifically in taxation and representing taxpayers before the IRS.

Both can prepare taxes, represent clients, and provide strong guidance. The right fit depends on the complexity of your business and the type of support you need, not the credential alone.

No. Most bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation work doesn’t legally require a CPA license.

At Clarke, we staff our team intentionally with CPAs, EAs, and experienced professionals so clients get the right expertise for the right task. That means efficient, cost-effective service without over-engineering work that doesn’t require a CPA.

Monthly bookkeeping at Clarke includes transaction categorization, bank and credit card reconciliations, financial statement preparation (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow), and QuickBooks Online maintenance, all delivered on a fixed monthly fee with no hourly billing.

Yes. Catch-up and cleanup work is a regular part of what we do. We’ll assess how far behind things are, give you a clear picture of what’s needed, and get your records organized and accurate.

Most clients receive monthly financial reports, typically a profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow summary.
